About OneHeart

OneHeart is a Small Charity working in the Llanfairfechan and Bangor area, that has come about as a result of two things:

One was the death of a man in Bangor in December 2010.

The man who died was called Patrick John Cleary. He came originally from Llanllyfni, but at the time didn’t have anywhere to live. He was unable to find shelter for the night and died of hypothermia, trying to sleep in the grounds of Bangor Cathedral on one of the coldest nights of the year.

The other is a vision that we are all connected as a society.

Some of us are confident and sure of our place and importance. Others are unheard – even shunned. OneHeart is about making connections with people, singing and a belief that we each have a voice that is unique and vital to the well-being of the whole.

OneHeart was founded by Evelyn Stevens and the late Mandy Simone. Our work so far has mostly consisted of fundraising, the majority of which has come from the annual Cold Concert held in Bangor Cathedral. The money has been given to projects which deal directly with the homeless, such as the Cathedral Partnership and North Wales Housing.

OneHeart invites us to realise our connectedness, especially through music.

We are holding a variety of events this year that we hope will bring lots of different people together and also raise money for local people without homes. This year we are helping the Bangor Cathedral Partnership. You can find out about their work by clicking on the link on the right of this page. You can also find about the OneHeart events here.
